I purchased this motorcycle from the original owner. It was a rolling chassis with many boxes coffee cans and totes. Except for the cheetah seat and megaphone mufflers, everything there was original as shipped from the Redditch factory on January 4, 1958. There were only two small parts that were not accounted for.
I completed a "ground up" restoration on the bike in 2012. For a detailed account of what I did go to BritBike.com. Look for "1958 Trailblazer Restoration" in the Royal Enfield forums. It is currently on page 13 and dated 11/13/14.
The bike attracts a lot of attention wherever I ride it and is a multiple trophy winner. Received "Cool As Hell" award at the 2014 Rockerbox Motofest at Road America. I had Richard Backus, presenter and editor of Motorcycle Classics magazine, sign it. Also was awarded the "Grand Marshal's Choice" at Vintage Motorcycle Days 2014. Presenters Bobby Hill and Bill Tuman signed it for me. They are the two remaining members of the '40-'50s Indian Wrecking Crew.
Included with the bike is the original tool kit, new maintenance spare parts and original parts I did not use. I also have the original Repair and Overhaul manual, 1955-1958 Trailblazer parts list, several old cycle magazines featuring the new Indian model releases for 1958 and 1959. In addition, I also have several hundred "loose leaf" pages from BritBike.com, indexed in a binder. that are relative to the Royal Enfield Indians, plus other pertinent books and magazines.
The last photo shows the original owner (with sunglasses) and his friend looking at the restored bike. I have the original title (not a copy) that he received when he purchased the bike.
