Photos came out dark, painting is lighter. Not a Hudson River School per se, as it was painted sometime in the 20th century. The American artist who painted it, E. A. Gorham of Westport Conn., drew upon a 1600’s painting by Claude Lorraine (see photo), changing it a good deal, including adopting the Romantic look of the Hudson River style, to suit his social commentary of racial and class inequality. Well painted and set in a deep antique walnut frame. Both painting and frame in very good condition for their ages. 51” by 39” frame, 42” by 30” painting. $600. Bob
