I have tried a whole new line of cutting boards with these. They have an octagon center piece with 8 flanking strips glued and pocket screwed to the octagon center with the balance of the space filled in with different woods. Looks like a piece of art but as I always do with these boards I have also made it very functional for everyday use. The whole upper piece is glued together and encompassed with a surrounding piece of wood, also glued to the unit. To finish the whole piece off I have glued the entire board to a 1/2" piece of solid ash wood. The bottom also sports 4 solid rubber feet hold it in place while using it and I have installed a carrying handle on each end to make it portable to use anywhere. The top piece has been coated several times with cutting board oil while the bottom has a couple coats of poly on it all to keep it looking like the day you took it home. Surprisingly easy to maintain and fun to use. I have a number of these here so come by and take a look to see what may strike your fancy. Selling for $80
