Welcome to Turning Leaf Cottage near the town of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. The cabin is located on Long Lake just two miles from the town of Balsam Lake and two miles from Centuria, Wisconsin, in Polk County. This property contracted in 2003 offers the comforts of home with a lakeside atmosphere. The two-level home has a great room on the main floor with gas fireplace, open floor plan with kitchen and dining area that overlooks the wonderful view of the lake with expansive windows. There are two bedrooms and a full bath on each level. The 2600-square-foot cabin also has a walk-out lower level with a gas fireplace in the great room in addition to the 2 bedrooms, bath, and laundry room.

Select a book from the library shelves, catch up on some DVD's, play some table games, fish, relax on the deck, enjoy nature! The cabin faces the west for great sunsets and time around the fire pit. You will enjoy seeing the eagles and birds from the deck while enjoying your coffee or meals on the deck. Great fishing - bass, northern and pan fish. Some of the best fishing on the lake is right off our dock. Inquire for availability. We are seeking quiet groups who will respect our home and our neighbors.

No pets, please. No smoking inside or on the property. Not recommended for small children due to open staircase. Our county ordinance allows for only groups of 8. Summer rentals require a minimum of 7 nights.

Dishwasher, wifi, central air conditioning, TV, DVD player, foosball table. Washer and dryer set and gas grill provided. On main floor one king-size bedroom, second bedroom has twin beds that can be converted to a king-sized bed. On lower level there is one queen-sized bed and one bedroom with twin beds that can be converted to king-sized bed.

Possible rental of pontoon available at $100 per day. Beach is not sandy. Shore shoes recommended. Thirteen steps down to shoreline. Swimming raft and dock.

Perfect Summer at the Lake
We had a family reunion-type vacation here the summer of 2011, my sister-in-law went back in 2012 with her girl friends and we are planning a trip there again this year.

It is as nice as it seems from the pictures and description. It was clean and well maintained. It was comfortable and homey, but not cluttered with so much personal stuff that we felt odd being in a stranger's personal space. There were lots of games for us when we retired inside (foosball and basketball in the garage too!) The kitchen had all we needed. The porch, the fire pit and the yard are all lovely places to hang out. Inside, it was nice to have a den separate from the other main living area -- for when the grownups needed quiet time. We never used the TV or anything, so I can't comment on that, but we did have telephone reception.

And then, there was the lake. I know lakes change year-to-year, month-to-month, but the lake was awesome when we were there. We rented the pontoon boat and swam every day - from the dock or further out. Next time we will bring bikes too.

The location was easy to get to for family coming from Minneapolis. There are no groceries really close -- you have to drive about 20 minutes or so. There is a small town with a couple of restaurants nearby, but not much. We didn't mind at all -- we were perfectly happy planning ahead and staying put in this lovely home.

We were happy to meet the owners when they came up at the end of our stay. Very nice people, who otherwise were not around -- though they were available and helpful by telephone when we noticed a small leak during a summer storm.

Lovely Lake Home
This was a great place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our children and grandchildren, 6 adults and 2 teenagers. The house is nicely furnished and spotless. We loved the bonfires on the beach, beautiful sunsets and the kids loved the paddleboat and games. Great place.
