Caring housemates/preservationists are invited to join myself, the owner and restorer of the house, along with our two other housemates in this well-cared-for, modest, old, three-bedroom Saint Paul home. Front porch. Woodwork. Stain glass windows. Claw foot tub. Yard with plenty of trees in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Near Hamline U, the Turf Club in St. Paul. This is old-fashioned-house living. You will need to develop an extra-gentle touch and stewardship, and learn this old house's idiosyncrasies.

We are looking to add cooperative, quiet, thoughtful house-stewards to help us preserve our genteel, old 1914 share-house. This opportunity is only for people ready to be good neighbors and help preserve this 111 year old home. We all sign a Conditions of Tenancy agreement that sets common-sense house rules. This is a chill, NO-DRAMA house, a quiet lot who keep to ourselves, and have an established quiet time of 10:00 PM. We are vaccinated and boosted. There's always maintenance to be done throughout the year so there may be some inconvenience and light DIY construction work at times, but I make every attempt to be respectful of our housemates.
Rent includes wifi, gas and electric utilities, washer and dryer, a quaint, primitive farmhouse kitchen, a furnished living room, dining room and one bathroom for all to share. Housemates are responsible for lawn and garden grooming and quick sidewalk snow removal and weekly house cleaning as a part of being good, respectful neighbors to your housemates and the older people and families in our neighborhood.
No pets, no storage area, and no space for extra living room or dining room furniture. The bedrooms are neatly painted, and unfurnished with smaller 1914-era closets. I've been asked often, but there is no repainting of walls, no removal of closet doors. Rent is month to month. One month damage deposit. The one bathroom is shared by all, so thoughtfulness and cooperation is necessary. On-street parking. For the safety and consideration of all housemates, no parties, no drugs, light alcohol use only, no smoking, no guns. First month's rent and damage deposit of one month's rent is due before move in. One month notice to move out. There will be an application online with a non-refundable fee of approximately $60 that will include a background check by a national professional agency.
