Rock band with diverse influences ranging from pop-punk, progressive rock, pop, alternative rock, and metal seeking stable long-term bassist who can contribute female backing vox - we don't want to add 2 separate members for those roles. We are female-fronted, but one is not enough!
We are in our late 20s to mid-30s, but totally open to talking if you're a little outside of that range.
Skill level: Intermediate.
If you can learn simple parts without looking at a tab, you know what time signatures are, you know what the notes of the fretboard are, and you practice at home, you'll be fine. We're not a beginner band, but the bass parts aren't too crazy - if they're too easy for you, feel free to rewrite them and show off! 5-string preferred, but you can also just tune a 4-string down, because none of our bass parts really use the highest string anyway.
Must be able to commit to weekly practices. We're aiming for a roughly monthly gigging schedule. Maybe more if everyone is feeling stoked about the band, maybe a bit less, if people are busy with real-life commitments.
We lost our first bassist to real-life events, and then worked with a few bassists who have not been especially consistent, long-term collaborators, as they had a lot of other things going on in their lives getting in the way of playing in a band. Female backing vocals grew into a nice addition to our sound over time, and we hope to keep that. We are really hoping for someone interested in becoming a long-term collaborator, so that we can stick with the same lineup for a long time to come.
This group is alcohol and 420-tolerant, but please be sensible and use only responsibly before practices and shows.
We're a pretty easy-going and fun-loving group, and we have a lot of fun just jamming for PART of practice, if that's your vibe, but we do hope to set goals and achieve them, in terms of learning new songs, recording them, and performing shows. If you like some productivity mixed in with your shenanigans, you'll fit right in!
Let me know if you might be interested, tell me a bit about yourself and your situation, and if your interest is pending upon the music, I can send demos!
