It is an upgrade for the neck position in a Rickenbacker 4003 bass or Hofner Beatle bass or Epiphone Allen Woody bass that adds much more definition, clarity and useful low-mids than the woofy standard pickup. It has a blade pole-piece which means it would work well for guitar too if you want a downtuned friendly mini humbucker to drop in your Les Paul, Firebird, Gretsch or mini-humbucker Tele.
