Thanks for reading my post. I have been teaching guitar lessons for over 20 years. I am best with and prefer beginners from age 12 to adult. I strive to get the student to understand what he/she is doing and not just go through the motions of doing it. I emphasize fundamentals and proper technique. I don't teach by teaching songs. If you do your job as a student and if I do my job as a teacher, which I will, you don't need me for that. You can do that on your own. While I don't pretend to be a great player, I do think I'm a good teacher.
Among the things I teach are:
Open position chords
Barre chords
Power chords
Triads
Major scales
Minor scales
Major pentatonic scales
Minor pentatonic scales
Improvising
Soloing
Some music theory
Reading music
I'm probably leaving some things out, but that should give you an idea of what to expect. It is my nature to joke around a lot and try to keep lessons light and fun. Make no mistake about it, though, I take teaching seriously and feel a strong obligation to spend your time and money wisely.
I offer 30, 45, and 60 minutes lessons, priced at $30, $40, and $50 respectively. I accept cash or checks. Payment may be made weekly, monthly, or for however many lessons at a time that you like. Lessons are done in my home (Roseville), and are normally done on the same day at the same time every week, with some flexibility, of course. I am normally available for lessons Monday through Thursday mornings, afternoons, and evenings, and Friday morning and early afternoon.
I think that about covers it. Give it some thought and if you are interested or have questions please respond to this ad. If you respond by text, please mention guitar lessons so I know what you're talking about.
