Size 19" frame puts this on the larger end of the sizing for step through frame mountain bikes of this era. Will fit riders in the 5'6"-5'9" range.
Likely an early 90's model, based on the graphics and features the frame has. Chromoly steel is both tough and relatively lightweight when it comes to steel. Frame itself is in very nice condition, a few scratches on it, but no rust, dents or any issues that would compromise its integrity. Graphics still show proudly, and paint has a nice luster. These bikes tend to be somewhat bomb-proof.
Mechanically, this bike has been fully rebuilt from the frame up. It has received what a bike shop would call a full major overhaul. Built from the frame up, all components have been meticulously cleaned & lubed. Solid V-Brakes feature fresh pads, all new cables and housing for brakes and shifting. Shifts very crisp, rolls very smooth. Alloy wheels are true, lightweight and roll great. Twist shifters are easy to use, especially with gloves/mittens.
In terms of winter riding, a great feature of this bike is that it does not have a suspension fork. Suspension forks don't do well in some cases when it comes to winter bikes- as they freeze up and the salt destroys them. Also, suspension forks add a good amount of unneeded weight to the front end of a winter bike. Being full rigid, no suspension, is the most reliable, lightest weight way to put together a reliable winter bike.
Simple, basic, reliable, easy to maintain, stable & fun to ride in sloppy conditions.
Bike is %100 ready to ride. Plenty of room to add fenders, (which I can probably add a set for a few extra $). Don't spend all winter letting your cycling skills get rusty, get out there and make the most of crushing some winter riding.
