Effects of Parental Incarceration on Family and Child Wellbeing:
Informing Best Practices Through an Investigation of Caregiver Experiences

Researchers from the University of Minnesota, in collaboration with the Children of Incarcerated Caregivers (CIC) and Child Advocacy and Juvenile Justice Clinic (the CAC) at the University of Minnesota Law School, are seeking participants who experienced taking care of children after their parents were incarcerated. This study will contribute to not only better understanding caregiver experiences but also informing the practice of lawyers and other professionals.

You may be eligible to participate and receive a $50 Visa gift card in return if you are: 1) an adult caregiver with temporary, permanent parental authority through delegation, or other form of guardianship over a minor (i.e., under 18 years of age); 2) taking care of one or more minor(s); and 3) between 18 and 70 years of age.

To learn more about this study and find out how to participate, contact Dr. Damir S. Utrzan in the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Health, in the Department of Pediatrics, at the University of Minnesota.

Researchers can meet you at a convenient location, like a library or your home.
