For sale: Vintage Folbot "folding kayak" in good condition.
17' long, 2-person, yet very light, remarkably stable and fast. The entire kayak folds down into a bag (included) for carrying when hiking and camping. Neoprene skin and ultra-light aluminum frame.
Folbot's are not in production anymore, are highly-acclaimed, collectible with an interesting history.
Great for local lakes, rivers, lazy rides, fishing, but I think it was made for porting and covering large amounts of water.
Condition is good, but it's 20-some years old so not like-new condition. No rips or tears at all, and still performs wonderfully in the water. It does have 1 broken plastic joint in the middle floor of the frame. I've kayaked with this issue for years with zero issues, but ideally would be fixed for maximum performance and resale. If I were handier or more into kayaking, I'd fix it. I haven't looked for the part, and suspect it won't be easy to find, as Folbot doesn't exist anymore, but if fixed up, it seems these sell for $1,500 to $3,000.
Here's a company that fixes up these collectible Folbots:
$900 obo. These are hard to find, collectible and sell for 2K+ on eBay.
Pics are of my wife and I on Lotus lake 2018. I'll post more close-up pics of the kayak soon - I need to pull it out of the back of my garage and give it a spring cleaning yet, but will hopefully this weekend.
