We have an open room in a large house in a quiet neighborhood in South Minneapolis! (53rd & Park Ave) The rent for the room is $650, utilities not included. It is a year long lease and I have lived here for nearly 4 years! The landlord requires good rental history as well as a clean criminal record. We have a detached garage that has plenty of open space, in-house washer and dryer, dishwasher, and tons of counter space. We are very near an Express bus line that goes directly downtown going north and directly to the MOA going south that runs every 15-30 mins as well! Our street itself literally always has parking and is right near 35, giving you access to quick commuting! The back yard has a fire pit for the warmer months, as well as updated landscaping. The landlord is very responsive and on top of issues, even putting extra work into the detail of the landscaping and installing a new gas fireplace because he cares. Unfortunately, the landlord isn’t looking for any more pets to join our home, though. The living room has couches and is furnished but could use a TV and some decorating! The person moving in would have freedom to contribute to the main space and help to make it their own! People often walk into the house and call it a “warm” home! I’ve personally found stability here.
As for what we look for in a roommate! We would like for this to be a home! We aren’t uptight but do care about others’ mental health, sleep schedules, and doing our part in keeping up the house so that we can all feel comfortable with having company over! Ideally, we aren’t all just hermits and can live harmoniously! (But it’s okay if you’re a hermit :D) The people who live here currently are professionals and don’t tend to party, especially being that one of us works in a sober home. However, this house is cannabis friendly. Ultimately, we’re just looking for someone who is a responsible adult that cares about the space that they live in. The person writing this personally cares about community, is in his 30’s, and just wants to live with good people.
