My wife and I are looking for a change. I'm from Vancouver, Canada and she is from Portland, Oregon and we've been living in Seattle for the past eight or nine years.
We've both been working in the sciences, specifically oncology, undiagnosed diseases, and HIV research but I'm looking to transition into a managerial role with a reputable tattoo studio. My biggest strengths are my ability to quickly adapt to novel situations and provide excellent customer service at times where my patients have been at their worst. The skills I've developed during these challenging times, have prepared me well for pretty much anything that could walk through the door.
My passion is art and specifically the art of tattooing. In saying that, I can't even draw Ms. Pac-man, so an administrative or business role is where I would be best suited. I'm heavily tattooed and have been tattooed in Canada, the USA, and the United Kingdom at public and private studios, as well as at conventions (London, Evergreen (Eugene, OR), & Seattle.
If you're looking for a drug and drama free former academic with a passion for the industry, please look no further. The biggest turn-off in the industry is ego and I'm not having it as a patron or an employee. The studio is a business and manners cost nothing! (Sorry, still Canadian at the end of the day).
