"Vulcan Combination Unit" Ace-Hy Hydraulic Bumper Jack and Safety Wheel Block
This is a universal bumper jack that can be used with a number of makes of models of cars.
In January 1949, my grandfather purchased a brand new 1949 Cadillac 6269 Sedan from Warren Cadillac in Minneapolis.
The car was equipped with this aftermarket hydraulic bumper jack and wheel block kit. I have the original sales invoice for the 1949 Cadillac that lists this jack and wheel block kit as a separate line item.
Ace-Hy hydraulic bumper jacks were manufactured starting the late 1930s and continuing into the 1960s by Vulcan Manufacturing Co. originally in St. Paul and later in Winona, Minnesota.
The jack operates by unscrewing the handle and pumping it up and down
