Some history: We purchased the rack-mount frame NOS, so its in great shape. The other units were purchased one at a time. Some work has been completed by our tech as follows:
* Recapped all electrolytic caps in all modules.
* BA-45 compressor/expander passes audio, but does not function. Further component/block testing will be needed along with calibration of unit to function properly.
* BA-46 limiter is not functioning as well. Substitute transistors appear to have been replaced years ago. I suspect one or more of those contributing to the problem. I did not investigate further. I recommend tracking down actual parts and replacing all in both limiter units before calibration.
* Please note that limiter modules must be inserted in the rack in order for the preamp to pass signal. Connectors are wired to have limiters inserted.
* Side 1 (Left) of the rack module is wired correctly for A/C and audio I/O and the only slots useable to test modules at this point.
* Side 2 (right) needs to be rewired and configured to mirror side 1. I replaced one bad connector, and wired the connector side of the audio output. No further wiring changes have been made yet.
We are selling this package as-is with the buyer knowing here that further work and testing will be required to get all of the units working both individually and as a package wired correctly within the frame.
We have way too many compress/limiters and other equipment and do not have the space anymore, nor the time to purse this project further, so we are reluctantly selling this package as-is.
