Hey everybody. I'm a bass player, and I'm looking for a band.

First, a little about me:
I'm 48, been playing for many years, both originals and covers. I'm most comfortable in rock and pop, but I'm open to whatever. To be honest, I'm probably a little rusty, as I haven't gigged in a few years, but I've tried to stay current and keep my fingers moving. I also sing a little, play some guitar, and can plunk out a few chords on a keyboard. I always show up on time with my gear ready to go.
Second, a little about what I'd like:
In a perfect world, I'd like to find a band that's already up and running, or getting close. We'd gig 3 or 4 times a month, without driving TOO far from the Cities. Maybe we'd do a couple acoustic gigs with a smaller version of the band, too. We'd play a cool mix of music that's crowd-pleasing but lets the band have a little fun, too. Everybody learns their songs at home, and rehearsals are to tighten up. I'm more interested in playing the songs well as a group than a note-for-note recreation of the recording. I don't care who drinks or smokes what, as long as it never interferes with the band. Everybody would take home at least $100 every gig.
So, I get it. I'm being kinda picky. I probably won't get everything I want. I'm cool with filling in, or a short-term thing, but eventually I'd prefer to settle into something more or less permanent. I didn't get very specific about genres, because I'm more interested in the right group of people. I want to play my best with cool people, have some fun, drink a couple beers, and make a couple bucks.
If you read all this and are still interested, drop me a line.
