Selling my Zoom G3 Multi-Effects guitar pedal, a versatile unit that combines amp modeling, effects, and a built-in looper in a compact, gig-ready format, for any guitarist, from beginning to advanced (i.e. backup multi-FX).
Use live (perhaps as a backup for something newer like Helix or Pod), or use at home for jamming, practicing or for the studio (USB interface). This is the original G3—not the newer G3n—and in many ways, it’s actually more versatile. This Zoom pedal would be great for a beginning guitarist looking for an entry-level, inexpensive, multi-FX pedal. Want FX, rhythm, looper and tuner all in one--this might work for you. Ability to use headphones and use batteries, this would be great unit for portability and travel.
Why the G3 Still Stands Out:
Built-in USB Audio Interface – Plug directly into your computer for recording and re-amping. The G3n removed this feature.
Onboard Looper with Rhythm Section – Jam with drum patterns and loop up to 40 seconds. G3n has a looper, but no rhythm accompaniment.
Three Dedicated Screens + Footswitches – Intuitive layout lets you control three effects at a time with real-time visual feedback, but you can page to 3 more effects easily to control them as well (can chain up to 6 FX). No menu diving for those first 3 effects (or if you use control pedal). Workflow is meant to be similar to a traditional pedal board, where one puts stomp boxes into a signal chain, and has knobs to control parameters of the effects.
Stompbox + Preset Modes – Switch between pedalboard-style control and preset recall—perfect for live or studio use.
Battery or Adapter Powered – Great for portable setups or busking.
Has Tuner and Tap Tempo (rhythm and time effects); all the essentials built in.
Includes a wide range of effects: delays, reverbs, modulations, distortions, amp sims, and more. You can chain up to six effects at once and tweak them with ease. The delays, reverbs and modulations are really good.
Rugged metal chassis. Built to last.
Connections:
- 1/4" Instrument Input (TS: active or passive pickups)
- Balanced 1/4" Output (TRS: Stereo, Mono, or Headphones)
- Single balanced XLR output (mono: pre or post amp/cab simulation)
- Control / Expression Pedal Input (1/4") (use to dial in effect parameters in real-time)
- USB B (connect to USB Host/computer and use as interface); can be powered via USB
- Power jack (can also be run on 4 AA batteries)
