Two cool vintage 12x15 Ludwig marching drums. One is a nice mahogany 3-ply shell with 8 tube lugs (9” hole to hole) and original clips and hoops, all of which function well — two tension rods are unoriginal —but no strainer/throwoff or butt end. I’m guessing 1930s. Has original bottom calf head, which is ripped, and black Remo on top. Sure looks like a “Triumphal Parade Drum” model as seen in the 1935 and 1937 Ludwig catalogs.
The second is a 3-ply maple shell with a nice L&L badge, strainer and butt end (which don’t fit the holes on the mahogany drum) but no lug holes or hoops; looks like originally a rope-tension military parade drum, stamped “US”; “4305” stamp would indicate May 1943.
Lots of nice parts here.
$175 cash/BO for both. Pickup only in Longfellow, Minneapolis. Thanks.
