The electronics have also been upgraded with 920D Custom electronics. The pickups are Fralin Vintage Hots, which to my ears are far superior to the stock Texas Specials and much closer to what Stevie actually used on his number one. Additionally, the two stock tone controls have been changed to TBX and blender pots, allowing for greater tone and pickup selection possibilities. The case has also been upgraded to a Fender Deluxe molded case, as the original wood case felt flimsy and fragile to me. All of the original items that were replaced have been sold. The back plate and tremolo bar are also no longer available.
The condition of the guitar is cosmically great, with some minor wear to the clear coat from use but nothing I could capture with a camera. The frets show a little wear but function as expected and still have tons of playing life left in them. This also comes with some Allen wrenches, case keys, and the original hang tag. This guitar sounds absolutely amazing, particularly with the Fralin pickups, and the neck feels better than any other modern Strat I’ve played. I’m only selling it because I’m really only playing heavier music these days with higher-output humbuckers and therefore rarely use this now. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions!
