For Sale - A nice vintage Squier Stratocaster, circa 1986. The E6 serial numbers can overlap with adjacent years. Early Squiers from the old Fujigen factory are very popular now. It's in great condition, especially when you consider that it is forty years old. The guitar is almost entirely original. Back when I got it the knobs were a mis-matched looking set. I wasn't sure which, if any, were the originals so I replaced them all with a matching set. The string trees were those big black roller versions you see on some MIJ Fenders from this era, and I replaced them with a classic style pair I thought matched the vintage vibe of the rest of the guitar better. The old parts are in the case, along with the trem arm. The color appears to be Torino red. The paint is nice and glossy, and is not very dinged up. There are some small shallow dents and scrapes on the body but nothing down to the wood. I tried to get them to show up in the pics but they aren't very prominent. Any light spots in the pictures are from reflections, there are no dings through the red topcoat. On the back of the guitar, there is a chip off one corner of the plastic trem cover, but no buckle rash in the paint. The finish on the fretboard is in great shape as well, no chipping or flaking on the edges, and only a little barely detectable fret wear. It's a nice looking and playing guitar in great shape, and comes with a good condition 80s Fender case too. Cash in-person sale only, $500. Cheaper than any similar models on Reverb (as I write this) and with no tax or shipping charges added. Plus you can try before you buy.
