This compact, torquey powerplant provides the ideal character for adventure riding with tractable and controllable power on road or off.  The six-speed transmission stacks the gearbox and the crankshaft in a triangular layout to keep the overall engine size shorter front-to-back, which optimizes engine placement in the frame for outstanding weight balance. The transmission ratios are designed to bring out the best of the low- to mid-speed torque and excellent response characteristics, letting the rider focus on the road or trail ahead. Yamaha's advanced Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) ride-by-wire system provides crisp, seamless throttle response and enables two selectable throttle maps (SPORT and EXPLORER), so riders can now dial in their preferred power delivery. There is also a selectable on/off Traction Control System to help maximize grip in low traction conditions. A larger 6.3-inch vertical TFT screen offers a rich, full-color display along with two selectable themes providing a wide array of vehicle and smartphone information. Yamaha's next-generation switchgear features a joystick design with button shape and feel extensively refined to provide intuitive operation in a compact, easy-to-use solution. Turn signal functions further enhance the riding experience. A soft click of the indicator switch will flash the turn signals three times, while a full click will flash continuously. Turn signals also self-cancel after 15 seconds and once the bike has travelled for more than 500 feet.  A revised 43mm KYB® adjustable front fork offers superb front-end feel and shock-absorbing characteristics, and now includes a preload adjuster located at the top of the fork tube. A redesigned linked-type monocross KYB® rear shock provides increased stroke and enhanced load absorption for more on- and off-road confidence.   Highly adjustable, long-travel suspension is mated to dirt-ready spoked wheels mounting 21-inch front and 18-inch rear tires, ensuring that Ténéré 700 doesn't shy away from serious off-road. The triple-disc brakes also feature wave-style rotors along with three-mode selectable ABS which gives the rider the ability to select full ABS, switch ABS off to the rear wheel only, or switch ABS off to both front and rear wheels when desired for specific off-road riding conditions.   Echoing the focused, purposeful design of rally-built works racing machines, the 2025 Ténéré 700 features a quad-LED headlight nacelle.
