This fantastic, hand-knotted, Oriental rug is a beautiful and strikingly designed "SERAPI". It features an elegant and richly detailed design that gives it an impressive look. It can be used as an area rug, or as a runner. It is for sale, because the City Lakes staged home, in which we used it, has just sold. (We take these rugs back after staging and sell them for a portion of their cost, to charge a lower staging fee.)
This gorgeous SERAPI was hand-knotted in Turkey in the 1930's. It is in excellent condition with no wear spots, and a rich vibrant color pallet and intricate design detail: (Note the pictures, and all the fine detail elements that are hand-woven into the rug). The exact size is 9.1x4.2 (so about 9x4). It has an exotic and sophisticated design that can be used in many ways whether in a contemporary, modern, transitional, or traditional decor. This rug was woven with 140 KPSI (knots per square inch), and a total of about 1,100,000 knots, and it took about 1900 man-hours of labor to hand knot this piece. It is of excellent quality, consistent with what we would expect in a very good quality Oriental rug.
This beautiful rug was selected for its rich and impressive design, and it would be fantastic in an entryway, a hall way, or as an area rug in a bedroom next to the bed, or placed adjacent to a larger rug to complete a room, as well. This is a beautiful piece for someone who wants a rich looking rug that will set the right tone in their home. At retail this SERAPI is about $2,700; JUST $675 here. Cash or VENMO only, please.
