This is a beautifully, rich looking, Antique "HERIZ" Oriental rug with tribal overtones; and it was hand-knotted in Turkey in the 1930's. The design style is known as HERIZ for the city these designs originated in, and it is in excellent condition, with no wear spots or stains. The exact size is 10.5x7.5.
This gorgeous tribal oriental is available for sale, because the City Lakes staged home, in which it was featured, has sold. (We take our rugs back after staging to sell them for a portion of their cost, to charge a lower staging fee.) This HERIZ rug features a dark tomato red field, with ivory diagonal keystones at each corner of the rug's field; this is then inset with a navy trapezoid that makes this particular rug VERY UNIQUE in its design. This HERIZ is a striking and rich looking piece, and it will enhance any space, in which you decide to use it.
This HERIZ was constructed of 100% virgin wool, woven into a cotton warp, and the woolen yarns were colored with vegetable dyes, for a richer look than the harsher looking/less expensive, chemical dyed rugs used on newer lesser quality rugs. It's a beautiful piece, with a traditional and highly detailed design that can be used in many ways. This rug features 140 KPSI (knots per square inch), with a total of about 2.5 MM knots, and it took about 3000 hours of labor to hand knot this piece. It is of excellent quality, consistent with what we would expect in a very good quality Persian Oriental rug.
This rug was selected for its striking and impressive design, and it would be fantastic anywhere in your home. It features a tribal design that is highly versatile, so it could work well in a traditional, transitional, or contemporary setting. At retail this rug is about $6000; JUST $1275 here, but cash only, please. Email or text me to view it, or call me. Thanks.
