Product description
Hackman's Tools bottle opener and serving spoon charms both in everyday and festive table settings with its minimal and sculptural design. Both feature an ergonomic handle, which makes opening bottles and serving fast and pleasant.
The Tools bottle opener is part of the Tools serving cutlery designed by Antonio Citterio and Glen Oliver Löw in 2000. The series includes a range of functional serving utensils that appeal to many tastes with its clean and simple aesthetic. The range is made of matte brushed stainless steel. The cutlery is nowadays part of Iittala's collection and is produced under the name Collection Tools. Iittala has made minor modifications and improvements to the series over the years.
Hackman, a little steel factory far up North established in 1790, became the flagship of Nordic cutlery design over the centuries and is now the largest Nordic trademark specialized in cookware, frying and grill pans and cutlery. Every Hackman product is designed to be functional as well as timelessly beautiful. Hackman’s strength lies in extensive expertise in its field acquired over the centuries.
Antonio Citterio
Antonio Citterio (b. 1950) is an Italian designer and architect who is renowned internationally. He graduated in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic and since 1972 has worked for many leading manufacturers such as B&B Italia, Kartell, Vitra and Iittala.
Glen Oliver Löw
The German designer Glen Oliver Löw (b.1959) studied industrial design at the University of Wuppertal, after which he moved to Milan and studied design at the Domus Academy. Since 1987 he has collaborated with Antonio Citterio. Together with Citterio Löw has developed numerous products for companies such as Iittala, Hackman and Kartell. He has won several design-prizes and some of his work is a part of the permanent exhibition at MOMA.
