This is a beautiful, impressive looking, Semi-Antique "TABRIZ" Oriental rug with a rich, jewel toned, color pallet. It was hand-knotted in Turkey in the 1960's, and it is in excellent condition with no were spots or flaws, and a richly vibrant color pallet. The design style is called a TABRIZ, after the city that this design style originated in. The exact size is 13x9.4 (so close to 13x10) making this a larger-sized oriental rug with an impressive presence.
This gorgeous rug is available for sale, because the City Lakes staged home, in which it was featured, has now sold. (We take our rugs back after staging to sell them for a portion of their cost, to charge a lower staging fee.) This TABRIZ rug features a beautiful cranberry red field, with a bright navy outer border, which is framed on both sides with a thin ivory picture frame edged in a light celery green. . This makes this TABRIZ a strikingly rich looking rug, and it will enhance any space, in which you decide to place it.
This rug was constructed of 100% virgin wool, woven into a cotton warp, and the woolen yarns were colored with vegetable dyes, for a richer look than the harsher looking, lesser quality, chemical dyed rugs of more recent production. It's a beautiful piece, with a traditional and highly detailed design that can be used in many ways. This rug features 120 KPSI (knots per square inch), with a total of about 3 million knots, and it took about 3000 hours of labor to hand-knot this piece. It is of excellent quality, consistent with what we would expect in a very good quality Persian Oriental rug.
This rug was selected for its striking and impressive design, and it would be fantastic anywhere in your home. It features a design that is highly versatile, with an earth-tone pallet, so it could work well in a traditional, transitional, or contemporary setting. At retail this rug is about $5000; JUST $1275 here, but cash only, please. Email or text me to view it, or call me. Thanks.
