Heriz rugs are hard to find; they are highly sought after for their casual look that also works so well with conveying understated elegance. Not many were woven in the 1930's/1940's, so there are not that many to find. So this is a rare opportunity to own a rug that is in high demand, but for which there are few other options to purchase.
This rug has a rich merlot-red colored field, with ivory accents at each end of the field in triangular form, and this is then surrounded by a navy outer border. It also has a subtle geometric/cross-shaped central medallion in the center of the rug. But it is very understated, and almost gives the look of not having a central medallion. This is an impressive looking design that will enhance any room in which you place it. It could be used in many style settings, including traditional, contemporary, transitional, or even modern.
This HERIZ was used to stage a very large city lakes home that has now sold. We used it in the main floor great room, and it visually enriched the whole house. (We take the rugs back after the home sells and sell them for a portion of their cost to reduce the initial staging fee.)
