MinneMesas is a micro furniture company located in Northeast Minneapolis creating custom designs by hand whenever we find the time.
The "Burritos" from MinneMesas were inspired by South American woodworking benches. The term "burrito" means "little donkey".
The burritos are a multipurpose design. They are handy for adding some character to a child's room, holding up some plants underneath a window and giving cats a balance beam.
We use reclaimed words from local businesses when possible, and some of this lumber comes from Better Futures, located in the Seward, Minneapolis neighborhood that salvages lumber from house tear downs at remodeling.
Each piece is unique and it gets a name evocative of its appearance connected to something in nature. things with four legs tend to end up with names from cats and dogs.
