Sikes Chair Company (1859-1956) operated predominantly in Buffalo, but these chairs were built during their short time in Philadelphia (1904-1906). The Ramsey County Courthouse maintained them until its remodel, and I’ve stored them since.
Wear is consistent with age, use, and proper care. Philadelphia-made Sikes furniture is hard to find, especially as sets or in this condition. A quick google search can confirm all of this. There just aren’t many of these left!
