This is a spectacularly beautiful TABRIZ Persian Oriental rug hand knotted in Iran in the 1930's. It is offered for sale, since we are finished using it in the Lake Minnetonka home, where it was featured. (We will take our rugs back after staging and sell them for a portion of their cost, to charge a lower staging fee.) This TABRIZ-design oriental was hand-knotted in the city of TABRIZ, (a premiere weaving center in Iran) and it is in very good condition, with a very rich and vibrant color pallet. The size is 14.2x10.1, so it is a larger piece, and it features a medium red field, with four very large ivory wings, one at each corner of the field, surrounded by a navy border with a thin light green picture frame on each side. It also features geometric elements on the field and a hand knotted design with detail you will not find this on today's rugs because this hand knotted detail is so labor intensive and expensive to reproduce. This rug was constructed of vegetable dyed wools for a softer, richer look than the harsher looking/less expensive, chemical dyed rugs. This is truly a beautiful and unique piece, with a traditional and highly detailed design that can be used in many ways. This rug features 120 KPSI (knots per square inch), with a total of about 3 million knots, and it took about 3500 hours of labor to hand knot this piece, to construct it. It is of excellent quality, consistent with what we would expect in a very good quality Persian Oriental rug. We selected this rug for its beautiful and impressive design, and it would be fantastic in a study/library/office, a family room, a living room, a dining room, or also in a bedroom. It would be very compatible in a traditional, transitional, or contemporary setting. This rug was impressive when we used it, because its rich design set a tone of vibrant elegance. It is a beautiful piece for someone who wants an impressive and rich looking rug that will make a rich statement in their home. At retail this rug is about $6,000; JUST $1275 here, but cash only, please. Email or text me to view it, or call me.
