This incredibly beautiful, larger-sized, antique oriental rug, was hand-knotted, in Iran, in the 1930's, making it about 90 years old. It is called a HERIZ design, after the city of HERIZ, where these designs were originated. This gorgeous HERIZ is a spectacular TRIBAL oriental rug, with a richly detailed and elegant design that works well in either a casual or formal setting. It features design detail you will not find in newer, less labor intensive pieces. The exact size is 12.3x9.8 (so about 12x10 in size), and it is in excellent condition with no wear spots, no stains, and a design and colors that are beautifully intact.

This rug has a rich, crimson-red colored field, with ivory geometrics at each corner, and this is surrounded by a rich looking, navy outer border. It also has a beautiful and striking diamond/cross-shaped, geometric central medallion in red and navy, with a touch of ivory. It is an impressive looking design that will enhance any room in which you place it. It could be used in many style settings, including traditional, contemporary, transitional, or even modern.

This HERIZ rug was used to stage a very large lakes area home that has sold. We used it in the family room, and it visually enriched the whole house. (We take the rugs back after the home sells and sell them for a portion of their cost to reduce the initial staging fee.)
