The Certified Peer Specialist, works as part of the Intensive Residential Trement Service team, which provides care and trement for persons who are experiencing significant mental health/psychiric symptoms, who are demonstring significant functional impairments, and who may have co-occurring substance use disorders. Certified Peer Support Specialists are fully integred team members who provide individualized and group services in the residence and the community and promote person served self-determinion and decision making. Certified Peer Support Specialists also provide essential expertise and consultion to the entire team to promote a culture in which each person’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integred into trement, rehabilition, and community self-help activities.
