Thorough rebuild on the stereo. All new electrolytics except on the microphone board. Amp and power supply rebuilt, phono board rebuilt, tone rebuilt. New led lamps for dial and meter face. Unit was nonworking when I got it with a failed PS. Somebody had done some work on the PS board previously, somehow the dropping resistor had been mounted right against the board which burned up the traces. Burnt traces had been fixed with some wire bodging, but they left the resistor there to continue baking. I removed the resistor, fixed the traces, and converted the dropping resistor to chassis mount style, the PS no longer has a heat issue. Outputs were pulled and tested, two were weak so I just replaced them all, seated them with gray pads. Have been listening to it for 3 days, quite nice. Tuner works decent, but I did not align or adjust it. The Three series was one of Pioneers best, the 737 is MOTL - it has a relay and some features the lower units did not have. Unit is fairly clean, wood case has minor dings, "FM Muting" stencil is worn off, would benefit a lot from a detail clean. There is a kit on Ebay for the redoing stencil, if somebody wanted to.
