The Pioneer RT-701 reel to reel is a two speed 7.5 and 3.75 IPS 1/4 Track two channel tape recorder with three motors. It features a record, erase and playback heads. It makes use of a space saving design that uses 7" reels. It utilizes a unique direct drive design for a very stable tape and capstan control. The Pioneer RT-701 features pitch control, push button tape function controls, separate mic and line input level controls, source/tape monitor via headphones, separate two position recording bias and equalization buttons. There is a four digit tape counter and two VU meters. It has pull out reel lock retainers that when turned slightly secure the tape to the deck.
The Pioneer RT-701 reel to reel plays all standard four track professionally prerecorded tapes, which were purchased in retail stores back in the 60s through 80s. It plays all standard four track tapes that were recorded by individual tape deck owners and you can record your own tapes for playback.
The Pioneer RT-701 reel to reel sounds incredibly good.
The face plate has minimal marks. Please check the top left corner of the face plate in the pictures. The black case does have some scratches.
The Pioneer 7" reel is not included in this sale. Included will be two plastic 7" reels and one will be filled with tape.
