The Sabes JCC Early Childhood Center is seeking a warm, gentle, and flexible float teacher who has experience caring for children ages 6 weeks to age 5. Float teachers may step in when a teacher is absent, or may support a classroom during busy or transitional times. Float teachers have the opportunity to support children throughout the ECC to develop independence, build physical and emotional strength, and develop a healthy sense of self and safety alongside a strong community of loving caregivers.

FLOAT TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Provide high-quality care to our children and families in a manner which reflects the mission and values of the Sabes JCC ECC.
Challenge each child to reach their potential, and guide their activities academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
Meet the daily needs of the children through caregiving activities such as diapering, meals, and napping.
Assist in the room maintenance to keep the classroom and center a safe, clean, and loving environment.
Rotate classroom materials regularly based on the observed interests of the children, ECC monthly Jewish theme, and developmental stage.
Foster relationships with toddler families through daily communication regarding activity, growth, and development.
Meet Rule 3 DHS requirements for position
College degree or minimum number credits in Early Childhood Education or an ECE related field, or a CDA
2 years of experience working with young children in a supervised setting.
Have exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Have an even, calm, and positive attitude and demeanor.
Have an understanding of Positive Discipline and knowledge of how to implement this philosophy into each age group at the ECC.
Being Jewish is not required but can be a benefit.
Be able to engage in all classroom daily activities (lifting up to 35 pounds, pushing up to 100 pounds, bending/kneeling/sitting at child level on floor for various activities
Help classrooms during swimming by being in the pool to maintain safe ratio
Available to work needed hours within 7am-6pm.
