I own a 1982 Volkswagon Vanagon L Diesel Westfalia campmobile that I'd like to sell. It has a clear title and current Minnesota plates and tabs. Before I bought it it was a Tennessee vehicle so I believe it wasn't exposed to much salt through its life. The odometer reads 98,466. The original CS 1.6 liter naturally aspirated diesel and the original 091 manual 4-speed transaxle have been removed so this sale is for a rolling chassis only. For too long I've planned to completely restore the van inside and out using many aftermarket parts, as well as, upgrade the drive train. The rear seat and cabinet are unbolted and the cabinet / fridge doors have been separated. I have other loose parts boxed up, as well as, the original diesel engine rubber hoses, mounts, coolant reservoir tank, stock axles and various other items and fasteners. All the window glass is good with no cracks. The rear engine compartment has a white fiberglass cover from a late model Vanagon (much lighter weight and easier to remove than the original steel one). The undercarriage and body panels are rust free except for in a few spots. Namely a couple of rust holes are present on the passenger / right side rear most window and the rear most right corner at top is slightly dented exposing some rust. Another rusting issue is behind the refrigerator / stove / sink cabinet at the floor where the left side lower rocker panel is rusting where it attaches to the floor. The cause of that is that often the gasket for the fridge flue vent fails and water begins to ingress. Also, I have a replacement 51x12x2 rocker panel and 3M 08115 Panel Bonding adhesive (with mixing nozzles and gun) to fix it which will be included in the sale, all together approximately $150 in parts. There is a dent on the rocker just behind the sliding door however it appears that it might be possible to push out or pull out. Obviously the entire body is sun faded and needs new paint. All the body panel seams remain intact yet all of those will most certainly need to be cleaned out and re-sealed (3M 08308 Heavy-Bodied Seam Sealer is recommended) before one decides to repaint. Fiberglass pop top needs new paint too. It features four Mercedes Benz CLK320 16x7 ET37 / 5x112 forged aluminum rims with Nokian 215/65R16 tires. The wheels have had the studs converted and nuts replaced (each with a security nut) + spacers installed with parts from T3 Tech, over $150 in parts.
