1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Convertible. I am the second owner. The original owner ordered it with 350ci 2bbl carb single exhaust with a 3 speed manual on the floor and bucket seats. Was Butternut Yellow, is now faded Daytona Yellow, Black interior, Black top. Power top works well but the top fabric is very old or original with a couple small holes. It has been out in heavy rain and stays mostly dry inside.
I bought the car in late 2021, it had been in a garage since 1999 and was very rusty.
It now has a restored, used frame from a coupe that was carefully straightened and boxed with a proper kit. New control arms and bushings, new springs and shocks, new fuel tank and line, new brakes lines and hoses, power brakes added (front disc rear drum), new head gaskets and engine resealed, transmission resealed, new water pump and thermostat, new Edelbrock 4bbl carb and manifold, new alternator, new power steering pump, has used repro15x8 Corvette rally wheels with new BF Goodrich Radial T/As.
Runs and drives great. You could drive this anywhere.
All exterior lights work, wipers work, blower fan works, heat/defrost work. Radio does not work.
I have a complete floor pan for it that has not been put in yet. So the floor is rusty with holes. The rockers seem to be solid as the doors both open and close very well. The cowl area has some surface rust but is very solid considering the floor and frame were so bad.
The bodywork/repaint was done in the 90s and has bondo.
New exhaust.
Gas gauge not working.
