Affected by Depression? | Free Self-Help Program | Join Our Study

12

compensation: $8.00 Amazon gift card for completing the study (see body of ad for details). You will also have a chance to win one of three $50.00 Visa gift cards.

We are researchers at the University of Nevada, Reno studying how to improve depression online. If you join, you will have access to a four-week cognitive behavioral program designed to help you improve your depression.

If you decide to participate, you will be asked to (1) complete pre-intervention measures, (2) either start the self-help program right away or start the program after a four-week delay, and (3) complete a measure of depression every other week for two months. There will not be any in-person meetings.

A similar self-help program charges $27.00 for a year subscription. By offering our program for free, we are extending this value to you. As a token of our appreciation, you will also receive a $3.00 Amazon gift card for completing the pre program measures and a $5.00 Amazon gift card for completing the remainder of the study. Finally, you will have a chance to win one of three $50.00 Visa gift cards. For every depression measure you complete after the initial screening tool, you will gain one chance to win, four chances to win total.

You may be eligible if you: (1) are experiencing depression, which is feeling down or blue and/or having lost interest in things you used to enjoy doing (2) are not in therapy for depression, (3) are 18 years of age or older, (4) are fluent in English, and (5) have regular access to a computer with the Internet.
