Got Lice?

Biologist, College Biology Instructor with a Master's Degree in Entomology (bugs) can help clear a head of lice. There are a lot of great services that cover Minneapolis for in-home lice removal, but why pay for their marketing and infrastructure? Why pay for a lice spa? You're stressed enough, let me satisfy my love of insects and nit picking (literally) for less than half the cost and in your own home. Further, with my service, there will be no additional sales pitches made for supplies you need to keep yourself lice free (unlike those other people). Finally, contractors with these companies are hired and sent out without ever having seen a louse or had any in-person training at all.

Many public school protocols for parents are including the removal processes that do NOT use OTC chemicals, due to the increase in resistant lice. Just as pests of agricultural crops are becoming resistant, so too are human head lice to permethrin and pyrethrins (the chemicals in OTC lice products). Only natural oils (and lots of them) will be used, followed by mechanical removal of eggs, nymphs and adults. If you follow the maintenance plan for all heads in the household and change "head" behavior, you'll be lice free pretty easily. Lice removal is actually pretty easy to do and maintain.

I'm starting this side-business for summers and school breaks only, which is part of why the cost is so low. Take advantage of my services now, before my website is up and I start charging $75 an hour (which is still less than half of the cheapest of the other in-home services, which use independent contractors just like me).

Basics:
I come to you, with all the supplies needed.

I clean all of the heads in your home for $50 an hour, one hour minimum. The time starts when I enter the house and ends when I walk out (we agree on the times on the actual visit). For reference, a single individual with short straight hair living alone could potentially be a one hour visit. Families would take longer...different lengths of hair and texture of hair also matter. I will travel 10 miles from my home in 55411 for no additional fee. For each additional 10 miles, there is an additional flat $10 fee.

I give materials (shampoo/conditioner/repellent spray/quality nit comb) and educate about the maintenance of a lice-free household. My goal is to educate as I work, showing you what I’m doing and what I’m finding. There are no secrets to lice removal- the processes I use have been established by healthcare providers, schools and lice experts.

We will sign a simple contract regarding services provided in which will be a link to verify my criminal background check as well.

You’ve got to provide the entertainment for kids (T.V., screen, book) and kids who don’t sit still will take far longer than normal. A parent/guardian must be present in the room at all times for service to continue.

A deposit of the first hour plus any driving fees will be required to make the appointment via Paypa, Zelle,l or Venmo. As each hour passes, the additional fees will be made at the time the service begins.

Email with questions, and I will send the contract we would sign in person. If anyone wants to spend their time reading vs. me working, that is of course his/her choice.
