This is a antique family heirloom. The New Educator Encyclopedia, printed in 1934 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is hardly used (we didn't look up things very much), so it is in excellent condition for its age. This is a time capsule worth studying for how far along in history the modern sciences and arts had developed at this time. What were the attitudes people commonly held in that era for every subject in the world? How far had basic knowledge progressed by that year? Many entries are surprisingly quaint, ill-informed and even mistaken by today's standards. Fascinating reading, revealing the wheel of progress as it was 85 years ago. TEN VOLUMES, plus two additional volumes of mid-1930s updates. $195 for all. See sample entries in the photos attached.
