Cool vintage steel road bike. Down tube shifters, white suntour group set, Columbus Tenax chromo tubing. According to internet lore it was a mid range road bike in 1988 but the frame was made of the very high quality Columbus steel tubing so it wasn’t super profitable to sell.

I got this as a bit of a basket case this spring and tore it down to the frame, cleaned everything and overhauled all of the bearings. When I finished it I took it on a 48 mile day and it worked great and rode very comfortably.

New bar tape, newer tires, chain and freewheel. New seat and MKS pedals with leather wrapped toe clips.

Great rider as is or if you wanted to take it to the next level a fancy set of wheels would be the ultimate upgrade. The old bearings don’t spin all that great, and there’s one nipple starting to pull through the rear wheel. Like I said I rode it almost 50 miles in a day and it was flawless, but I think a better set of wheels would really make it fly.

Ultimately a cool vintage road bike for your collection or modify to be a more modern hotrod. Steel is real!
