A lovely rare mid Victorian piano top burr walnut davenport of superb color and condition. The interior has a leather writing surface. When released with the secret button a magnificent fretwork interior is revealed. The burr walnut to the top surface is nicely inlaid with boxwood. The front over is lockable and the whole piece is in superb condition. It's a good original example of this classic type of Victorian davenport desk of the early 1800’s in London.
Purchased in Chelsea, England for over $4000 35 years ago.
