"The chair, designed in 1932-33, was not mass-produced until 1960, when the original model was followed without modification. Alternative versions are made in beech with natural oxhide, and in rosewood with black oxhide; in all these it is also offered in a children’s size. The production chair was first shown in the Arts of Denmark exhibition which toured the USA in 1960."

Mogens Koch: Architect. Born 1898. Trained Royal Academy Copenhagen. Proffessor of Architecture, Royal Academy, Copenhagen from 1950; visiting lecturer Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1956; Industrial Art Institute, Tokyo 1962. Range of objects designed has included furniture for Rud.Rasmussen workshops, Danish CWS, Interna, etc. fittings, silver and fabrics in connection with restoration of Danish churches; carpets. Work regularly exhibited Milan Triennale; Formes Scandinaves Paris 1958; The Arts of Denmark USA 1960-61; Les Assises Paris 1968; Two Centuries of Danish Design, Victoria & Albert Museum, London 1968.
