If you are looking for an excuse to play with other musicians, look no further than the TreeStrings Saturday Morning Acoustic Jam. Tree Strings has a new space to hold the jam that is next door to the shop (same building, east side of the DMV office). This space is bigger, louder (lots of room reverb), and doesn't require Brian to move his tools out of the way so the noon shutdown time isn't as critical. Brian supplies coffee and, sometimes, donuts and a space to play. It's the closest thing to a neighborhood porchfest that we have in Red Wing or anywhere near here.
The format insures everyone gets to pick a few songs or just play along in the background; no pressure either way. All acoustic instruments are welcome. Mostly, the music is pop, country, bluegrass, folk, and a few jazz standards, but if you can play it everyone else will either listen or attempt to play along. The usual crowd is a really nice bunch of people who are just looking for a chance to play some music for a couple of hours.
The TreeStrings Jam is every Saturday, 10 to noon. Hope to see you here.
