Pair of multi-function speaker cabinets for sale. These started as one Shure VA300-S column (two 10", four 8" speakers). Cut the cabinet in half (built like a tank!) and turned it into two cabinets (essentially a pair Shure VA301-S speakers which had one 10" and two 8" speakers). Rebuilt the cut-off endcaps with plywood, covered in new Tolex, retained the original baffles and built two more out of plywood, retained but modified the look of the back panel which has two screened openings and new grill cloth (as you may have noticed from my past vintage Kay and Heathkit amps, I'm partial to this gray grill cloth - so many people use the Fender silver which is boring and passe or the black Marshall that suggests there's something to hide). Pictures will show the details, but I'm selling the pair at three different price points: $175 for the pair with the 2x8, 1x10 speaker combo (8 ohms); $200 for the 2x8x10 speaker combo and empty 2x10 baffles with grill cloth; $250 for 2x8x10 and 2x10 with speakers (4 ohm). The original 8" and 10" Shure speakers are CTS dating to 1968/69, the four 10" speakers are square backed speakers made by CTS for a Peavey 4x10 column dating to 1976. Or make me a reasonable offer.
