Like New! Home player and I've really enjoyed the amp but I've decided I need/want a Magnatone. I may regret this one (but a Magnatone...). I'm keeping my Badcat Paw as my little/portable/quiet/practice amp (check that out if you haven't; it's another friggin great amp and makes letting this one go a bit easier). Copy/Pasted details from Badcat at bottom.
Badcat makes great amps - if you haven't checked them out, you should. Rhett Shull is a fan. Cleans are Fender glassy and turns into Marshall grindy tone as you turn it up. It is as close to getting both of those tones in a single amp as you can get. I used to rely on pedals for getting my Deluxe Reverb Reissue to have a good drive/crunch tone but I got rid of that amp/pedals once I got the Badcat. Yes, this amp does the Deluxe Reverb thing.
Plus, the Kmaster is unbeatable for quiet tones (proprietary feature - whatever they do works), has a switch to select between preamp tubes (fender 12ax7 and Vox EF86/the old vintage desired Vox tube), switchable fat (mid) boost, and lush built in reverb (digital). Tone controls work great. Cut knob is super handy for various pickup/speaker combos (or even switching to different speaker cabs) - a lot like a presence control.
I landed on Badcat when I was originally hunting for a Tone King. I think it is very much a Tone King but a little bit less of a ding on the wallet (reason I went with Badcat). It is also a good option for someone who was thinking of going Matchless, Mesa (if you didn't want a model with the super gain), Morgan, etc.

There are quite a few videos to check out on the amp. Read forum reviews. It delivers.
to drippy (it is digital).
Copy/Pasted Detailed Description >>>> Bad Cat Amps USA Player Series Cub 40 Reverb Guitar Amp Head
The USA Player Series Cub 40R preserves the purity of the original Cub circuit while offering increased flexibility. The EL34 power section adds huge headroom, percussive lows and glassy highs to this classic circuit. This improved design offers the ability to select between a 12AX7 or EF86 pre-amp tube using the mini toggle on the faceplate or the included footswitch. This new feature offers far more gain and versatility than previous Cub models.
We also added a selectable tone stack boost in both modes to give this pure single channel amp four unique gain stages. It can achieve everything from the traditional Cub 12AX7 chime to complex EF86 gain tones that were unachievable on earlier versions of the Cub. A two button footswitch to select the EF86 or 12AX7 pre-amp tube and engage the boost is included.
The K MasterĀ® circuit is a completely original approach to power amp management which simultaneously controls current, voltage, gain, harmonic clipping and signal amplitude at intricate variables at the turn of one knob. This groundbreaking analog circuitry can achieve any amount of gain at any desirable volume while keeping tone and touch response 100% intact. The K Master also allows the power tube section to achieve something never before possible. When turned beyond 2 o'clock on the dial it begins to push the power section into harmonic saturation independent of the where the preamp gain is set. Combine this function with the pre-amp set sparkling clean to achieve big clean tones that ooze with rich power tube harmonics.
Reverb
We discovered a unique way to make our reverb sit perfectly in the mix without ever overpowering the instrument or stealing tone from the preamp. This approach produces studio grade reverb right through your loudspeaker.
