Mike's Train House Premier O scale: MTH 20-3030-1 (Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range) DM&IR 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone Locomotive & Tender #227 with PS1. This is an O scale length model of the heaviest steam locomotives ever run in the United States (the Union Pacific's Big Boys were longer, but the Yellowstones weighed more). These monsters were used to pull long drags of iron ore out of northern Minnesota and were used until the end of DM&IR steam operations in 1960. This engine has some great features including.... operating smoke system, operates on O-72 track, constant voltage headlight, cab interior with engineer & fireman figures, operating marker lights, operating firebox glow, remote controlled Proto-Coupler, operating tender back up light, real coal load. This engine is also equipped with Proto-Sound 1.0. The engine and tender measure 33 inches long.
Included are 6 sets of MTH ore cars. The set numbers are 20-90131, 20-90132, 20-97505, 20-90507 and 2 sets of 20-20-97506. There are 6 cars in each set for a total of 36 ore cars.
Also selling a DM&IR snow plow and caboose. Both are MTH brand O scale.
If you combine the engine, tender, all of the ore cars, caboose and snow plow the overall length would be approximately 22 feet.
