Here's an eclectic assortment of useful books for learning Russian the "old school" way, pre-app, pre-Internet. These were sufficient to earn a minor in Russian at the college level in the 1990s.
Included are several textbooks covering concepts from total beginner to approximately 4th-5th year of study, dictionaries, conversational guides, some vintage books of idioms purchased during a trip to Moscow (probably impossible to find here in the U.S.), a Cold War era two-volume set for learning Russian that came from the U.S. military's defense language institute, a course on "reading Russian" (mostly interpreting news articles), even a dictionary of Russian profanity (if you're a gamer, now you can give your Russian opponents an earful back!).
