In the 1960’s, riding the Santa Fe Super Chief across the Midwest and Rocky Mountains was always a memorable event. The train’s Turquoise Room served excellent meals which were usually finished by enjoying your favorite cigarette at the dining table. This ashtray ( 4 7/8” X 3 7/8”) was purchased on the train in the early 1960’s. It is a memento of an earlier era and part of America’s railroading history.
