Tonight I saw on Facebook that there was a lost female cat in Cambridge , Minnesota who had been hanging around this one neighborhood in Cambridge for a few months.
I'm not sure if anybody had been feeding her or giving her water or shelter.
A kind lady who is part of animal rescue picked her up today and she was rushed to a vet in Cambridge Minnesota.
She was pretty skinny, fur in rough shape,
Her heart rate is low (120)
Her temperature is very low (97 degrees)
Her PCV blood count is normal (30%)
Her glucose is normal
She's unable or unwilling to move from laying flat on her side
Her responses are slow
The vet is concerned about neurologic issue.
Further tests showed Chem panel shows acute renal failure. The vet believes it's most likely caused by antifreeze poisoning.
She started to have seizures and was fading fast so she was given hugs and kisses and has now crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge free of pain.
My point of this post is if you see a cat in need out on the streets please give it shelter, give it food, give water, reach out to rescues, if possible take it into a veterinarian to check for microchip ,and put up found cat posters in the neighborhood. You very well may save a life of a very precious animal and possibly reuniting the cat with its family.
