I’m looking for a patient, supportive tutor who can teach my mom how to read and write English more confidently. She has lived in the U.S. for over 30 years and speaks conversational English very well, but her reading and writing skills are at a beginner level. We’re hoping to build her foundation from the basics and help her become fully confident and fluent in everyday reading and writing.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience teaching English literacy to adults OR experience as a retired/active middle school or high school English teacher (ESL or adult education experience is a big plus)
• Someone patient, encouraging, and able to create a shame-free learning environment
• Ability to build lessons starting from the basics and progress at her pace
• Clear communication and consistency with scheduling

• Sessions must be in person
• Location: Blaine
• Schedule: Flexible, ideally 1–2 times per week
• Pay: Negotiable, based on experience
